Mobile Counseling Center and the Mobile Police Department Foundation are proud to
announce a collaborative partnership aimed at supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of Mobile
Police Department officers and dispatchers. Through this partnership, the Mobile Police Department Foundation will provide funding for free and confidential counseling services at Mobile Counseling Center for all Mobile Police Department officers and  dispatchers.

 

The initiative recognizes the unique stressors, trauma exposure, and emotional demands faced daily by law
enforcement professionals and emergency dispatch personnel.
Services offered through the program will include professional counseling, trauma-focused treatment, stress
management support, and specialized therapeutic services designed to address the impact of critical incidents,
cumulative stress, and occupational trauma.

"These officers and dispatchers serve this community under extraordinary pressure and often experience traumatic situations as part of their daily work,” said Melinda Rader, LPC-S. “This partnership is about ensuring they have access to confidential, compassionate, and specialized care when they need it most.”​ All services will remain strictly confidential. Officers and dispatchers seeking support will only need to contact a confidential phone number directly to be connected promptly with a therapist best suited to meet their individual needs.
 

The partnership reflects a shared commitment between Mobile Counseling Center and the Mobile Police
Department Foundation to prioritize mental wellness, resilience, and long-term support for those who serve and protect the Mobile community.
